In an English translation of B. Inoue's letter to Mr. Hopper, dated 1981 August 21, Inoue refers to a piece in Peter Drucker's work, "The Practice of Management" that says that productivity greatly increases when workers are given responsibility for planning their work. Inoue describes how this influenced Japan and its creation of Q. C. circles, zero defect groups, and suggestion systems. Inoues says that he believes that Drucker is the most famous management scholar in Japan and comments on the number of people who attend Drucker's lectures in Japan. In a separate letter, addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Hopper, Inoue writes that he is asked to give lectures about Japanese management. He goes on to say that in addition to lecturing, Inoue enjoys singing Japanese enka songs. Page 1 contains original handwritten notations. Page 2, the second letter, is an original handwritten copy.
