Ned Sparks was a comedian and charactor actor born on November 19, 1883 in Ontario, Canada. Mercedes Sparks was the sister of Charles Caballero, head of the purchasing department at Fox Studios. Ned Sparks worked in stage and film and became known for his trademark deadpan expression and dry wit. He and Mercedes Caballero were married from 1931-1935. Photograph caption dated July 10, 1936 reads "Mrs. Mercedes Sparks, former wife of Ned Sparks, 'dead-pan' comedian, is shown weeping on the stand at a re-hearing on her divorce settlement when she testified Sparks once threatened to kill her. She claimed Sparks said he was going away for two weeks and that he'd kill her if she was in their apartment when he returned."
