A closeup photo of two Victorian houses with two model T Fords parked in front of the curb, facing to the left; on the left a tree trunk and on the right a brick wall of another building flank the image; the Victorian on the right is two storey with bay windows on the left side and on the right a covered porch on the first storey and a balcony above it on the second floor; the Victorian on the left is similar but with less width.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
"Completed, Feb. 1937, at a cost of $1,700,000. Former homes of, Messrs: Frank Ruhstaller, 1894, Terry family, Herzog family."
