Description
Sailor, Pilot, Educator, Activist. January Riddle found herself in San Diego in 1981 by accident while sailing up the coast of Baja California. Her activism would begin after Joining the National Organization of Women (NOW) through which she would meet people from the political, feminist and LGBT communities. Eventually she would become president of the San Diego Chapter. She would also serve on the Boards of the San Diego Democratic Club, San Diego Pride and the Diversionary Theater. She speaks of her career as an educator at San Diego State University and University of Phoenix and highlights her experiences as an activist starting with The fight against the Briggs Initiative, the defense of sex workers in San Diego and of women's reproductive rights.
