Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph article dated July 6, 1963 partially reads, "Conventional bowling is difficult enough for most of us, but trying to knock down the terrible tenpins while seated in a wheelchair requires a special ability. Wally Gordon of Sherman Oaks is not only good at it, he's the national champion. Gordon, who lost the use of his legs as a World War II casualty while serving as an infantry lieutenant, was recently crowned U.S. wheelchair bowling king in a Louisville tournament."
