Connie and Nelson begin the interview discussing the location of Plum Island and the context of the book as a murder mystery. They proceed to talk about the plot, characters, and how Nelson is not a typical fiction writer. Nelson then talks about his fascination with Plum Island growing up and how he went about researching the island for the book before considering how writing novels has changed his life, and his education background.
