Mary Morris discusses her book, “Nothing to Declare.” She begins by explaining that the book is a collection of stories from her time traveling in Mexico and South America. She talks about people she met along the way, and how important it is to make connections while traveling. She gives tips to women who travel: always know the local language, don’t meet strange men, and if you get sick go to the hospital immediately. Morris describes how South American people she met either discriminated against her as a ‘gringo’ or accepted her into their homes. She ends the interview by talking about how she befriended Nicaraguan revolutionaries.
