Description
Jane Sherrod Singer discusses her book, “The Confederate Dirty War.” She begins by explaining that Canada and England secretly supported the Confederacy during The Civil War. She talks about Confederate plans for biological warfare, landmines, undercover spies, and chemical attacks against the Union soldiers. She discusses a group of undercover spies called the Sons of Liberty who were members of the Union army and tried to sabotage the north. Singer describes how many of the southern terrorists weren’t punished after the war. She ends the interview by talking about how she collected most of her research material from the National Archives, special collections, and families of Civil War soldiers.
