Scope/Content: Mid-17th century manuscript containing excerpts and summaries from various historical works, perhaps by Walter Clavell, F.R.S. The text is written in a very neat hand throughout and the contents include Spencer's "Of the ritual laws of the Hebrews," notes out of Job Ludolf's commentaries, Kirchmann's "Of the Roman funerals," Joannes Nardi's "Of the burial of the Athenians" and Le Clerc's "Commentary upon Genesis."
Condition: Bound in full red morocco; gold tooled with gold edges and marbled endpapers.
