View of Pico Court in San Fernando, with a grocery store on the left of the unpaved stret. The court was built in the early 1910s by Sunkist Growers to house Mexican workers in the citrus industry. Approximately 50 duplex houses were located just south of the Andres Pico adobe, and a street ran through the center from Columbus Street to Sepulveda Blvd. The small store was originally located near Columbus Street but was later moved to near Sepulveda Blvd. and operated until 1957. It included a bar and a dance floor. Pico Court was demolished in 1963 to make way for the Simi Valley Freeway.
