Description: A circa 1865 image of Peter Zacharias, a member of Union Lodge No 58. The Union Lodge was charted in 1855, it was one of the first Freemasonry Lodges in Sacramento. Zacharias was elected to the position of Tyler from 1865-1872 and in 1867 he was also on the Guard for the Royal Arch Masons. Zacharias became Tyler for the Sacramento Lodge No 40 in 1877.
