Photograph caption dated March 31, 1964 reads, "A C-97 cargo plane from the 147th Air National Guard Transport Wing, Van Nuys, leaves the runway and heads for Anchorage, Alaska, loaded with medical supplies and food for the earthquake-ravaged state. A similar plane also was deployed from Van Nuys yesterday to aid in the search for a downed DC-4 in the Pacific with nine persons aboard."
