Inoue, of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., informing him that he has been approached by Fletcher Challenge, a new conglomerate established in New Zealand for a possible consultancy assignment. In the postscript, Hopper writes that he did not "sell himself" as energetically as he should have for much of 1979, 1980, and 1981 since he was concentrating on Japanese management and its history.
