Kenneth Hopper writes Mr. B. Inoue, of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., saying that Mr. K. S. Baek, of the Lucky-Goldstar Group in Seoul, Korea, has been interested in Hopper's work and in the history of post-war Japanese management. He reports that Baek recently asked if he might be able to meet Inoue. Hopper believes that Asian executives should know more about how Japan created a way to manage technology outside the West, and that there are problems common to both Japan and Korea. Hopper also writes that although the Michigan article had a good response, it did not seem to provoke anyone to action. He concludes by saying that the editor of the journal for the American Society for Quality Control would like to reprint much of the 1982 Michigan article. The letter contains an original handwritten note.
