Description
Connie and Joyce’s discussion of ‘Real Women’, a witty, tongue-in-cheek look at sexism, covers a variety of topics ranging from why real women don’t pump gas to the direct impetus behind writing the book. In particular, Joyce highlights that being a real women does not imply a lack of self-sufficiency, it simply means that real women shift gears as necessary, arguing that if a man could get someone to pump his gas, people would say he is clever—a real sharp operator. In short, Joyce finds that real women are practical. After the commercial break, Connie and Joyce delve into Joyce’s work as an actress and especially as a syndicated astrologer and the impact these have had on her own life as a ‘real woman’.
