Description
Connie and Irving begin the interview discussing the background of the work, the debate surrounding Adolph Hitler and Eva Braun’s suicide and possible escape, and their relationship to one another leading up to the Nazi defeat. They go on to discuss the perception of Eva in the popular imagination as opposed to the Eva that Irving argues she really was before continuing to talk about the possibility that Hitler and Eva did not commit suicide, and how Irving was able to develop that idea into a novel. Connie and Irving proceed to discuss the research obstacles that Irving encountered in Germany while trying to gain information for the book before considering Irving’s writing style and process. Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
