Original photograph is slightly warped and has several small stains on the upper left side of the photo. Travel Town, an outdoor museum in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, was dedicated in 1952. The Southern Pacific Company, was willing to donate an obsolete locomotive to be the first train on exhibit. The Los Angeles City Recreation and Park Department's museum is visited each week by hundreds of youngsters and adults who are interested in the development of transportation. The focus of the museum is rail transportation, but other items are on display. Photograph caption dated July 22, 1958 reads "Richard Haseline, 9, looks over LVT on exhibit at Griffith Park's Travel Town with Charley Atkins, director of museum, and Alton Rust of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Department. Tractor, used in Inchon Landing in Korea, has deactivated machine gun in turret." LVT stands for Landing Vehicle Tracked, a class of amphibious warfare tractor, a small amphibious landing craft, introduced by the United States Navy, Marine Corps and Army during World War II.
