Otis Williams discusses his book, “Temptations.” He begins by explaining how he was one of the members of the Motown music group The Temptations, and gives information on their early history. He talks about the influences of African American call and response music and gospel music. Williams talks about the Temptations’ signature look and the purple suits they wore while performing. He tells stories from his time on the road, and some unfortunate encounters he had with women groupies. He discusses how fame and success affected individual members of The Temptations and how some of them chose to branch out. He ends the interview by talking about contemporary groups of the Motown era, and his acquaintance with Diana Ross and The Supremes.
