First photograph caption dated May 6, 1937 reads, "With her two diaries seized, Mary Miles Minter today was called before the grand jury in a re-opening of the probe into the 15-year-old William Desmond Taylor murder mystery. Miss Minter said the diaries contained nothing of importance and that she had told all she knew of the Taylor slaying."; Second photograph caption dated December 28, 1939 reads, "The disputes between Mary Miles Minter, star of silent film days, and her mother and sister seem to be extending beyond the grave. Her sister, Margaret Shelby Fillmore, died on Dec. 21. Lately three petitions for special letters of administration have been filed."
