Scope/Content: Manuscript treatise concerning the construction of a horizontal sundial at Carleton Hall in North Yorkshire in 1750. The volume contains numerous tables, diagrams (some hand-colored) and calculations specific to the latitude and longitude of the location. This seems to be the work of Thomas Babington Pulleine, the owner of Carleton Hall: his name is inscribed on the front free endpaper in handwriting that matches the rest of the text.
Condition: Bound in recent quarter calf with marbled boards.
