The camp is set up in a clearing surrounded by low trees and brush. Patchy, grassy ground stretches across the foreground and into the distance. Wilfrid Cline, Jr. stands, left-of-center, in front of the camp tent. He crosses his legs and looks down while he holds onto a rifle. A folded piece of canvas lies on the ground in front of him and pots and pans sit on the ground to the left of him. Behind and to the right of the tent, Al Schmitz walks towards the back edge of the camp; his back is turned towards the camera. Trees and brush line the back edge of the camp. Text from negative sleeve: 1255. Taboose Creek, about 1917. We camped right beside the creek on the road, in a sort of grove of black acacia trees.
