Patty Fox discusses her book, “Star Style.” She begins by talking about ordinary women who transformed themselves into icons using their sense of personal style. Some of the women she talks about in the book are: Gloria Swanson, Joan Crawford, Dolores Del Rio, Greta Garbo, and Audrey Hepburn. She talks about Marlene Dietrich’s affinity for men’s clothing and how she always wore a specially made corset. Fox also describes Marilyn Monroe’s “dress naked” approach to fashion, and that Monroe felt most natural when she wasn’t wearing underwear. She ends the interview by summarizing the book: the way Hollywood stars dressed off camera affected the way that viewers saw them on the screen.
