Description
Betsy Blair discusses her book, “The Memory of All That.” She begins by describing the beginning of her career in New Jersey dancing in a chorus line. It was during this time in her life that she met, then choreographer, Gene Kelly whom she would later marry. She explores her political activism during her twenties, including her interest in joining the Communist party for which she was later blacklisted. She goes on to read from her work and discusses Gene Kelly’s film “Invitation to the Dance.” Later in the interview she shares her thoughts on Gene Kelly’s second marriage and the last few years of his life.
